Grace KendraPresident

Grace Kendra is a junior studying Anthropology with dual minors in Peace and Justice studies and Leadership of Organizations. Prior to the 2014-2015 season, Grace had never considered herself an endurance athlete. However, after just a few practices and getting to know her fellow triathlete teammates, she was hooked. Besides triathlon training and racing, she enjoys water sports, reading, hammocking, and virtually any outdoor activity.

Nick DuFresne – Vice President

Nick first became interested in triathlons after becoming involved in cross country and swimming in high school. Since completing his first triathlon during sophomore year, he has gone on to complete many others including the National Age Group Championships in 2013 and the National Collegiate Championships in 2015 and 2016. Nick is a finance major beginning his Junior year in the fall of 2016. It will be his third year on the team.

Helen Jeffers – Treasurer

HelenBioHelen is a sophomore majoring in biochemistry and biotechnology. Throughout high school, she ran cross country and track. Helen competed in triathlons with her family during summer as a way to train for xc and soon fell in love with the sport. She joined the tri team freshman year and enjoyed every bit of it! Helen also enjoy running her dogs, (along with any dogs that will let her pet it!), hiking, paddle boarding, and spending time with family and friends.

Jessica Ball – Social Events

biopic_jessJessica is a senior in the Dietetics program at MSU. She grew up swimming and started triathlons after watching her dad and brother compete throughout her youth. Her freshman year, she joined the team and has been very involved ever since. Not only has the team been crucial in meeting great friends, but it has helped her excel in racing as well. Jessica has attended collegiate nationals and age group nationals for triathlon since her first race, four years ago. Aside from triathlon, Jessica loves hanging out with friends, cooking/eating (yes- this includes team dinners), music and being outside. She is looking forward to spending the rest of her time at MSU with the team. Go Green!

Lauren Millard Events

Lauren is currently a junior in The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State. She decided to join the Triathlon Club last year as a sophomore. She attended East Kentwood High School where she played volleyball and soccer. Her hobbies include listening to music, having fun with friends/family, eating food, doing anything sports related, and (of course) swimming, biking, and running. Lauren has loved getting involved with triathlons so far and is looking forward to the years to come.

 

Sarah Hryncewicz Events

Sarah Hryncewicz goes to Michigan State University and is on the Triathlon team. Sarah’s unofficial occupation is online shopping and her hobbies include swimming, biking, running, and eating. Ms. Hryncewicz is new to triathlons so she rarely sets the pace so she goes with the flow.

 

 

Zack WilligSponsorship Coordinator

The sponsorship coordinator for MSU Triathlon is Zack Willig.  He is a junior at Michigan State studying civil engineering. He started as a cross country and track runner in high school and now transitioned to full time triathlon training. He is very involved in the sport and has represented team USA at the triathlon world championships in Canada. Outside of triathlon, Zack is enjoys flying, water skiing and other outdoor activities.

 

 

Zack Hoffman – Event Coordinator

Zach Hoffman is a sophomore studying chemical engineering. He is working at LyondellBasell this school year, and will be very busy. He got into triathlons around 4th grade and did one or two a year until college, where it became a lot more fun. Being a cross country runner and a swimmer in high school, biking was the last thing to pick up and practicing with the team makes it that much easier. Besides endurance training he also likes to go hammocking, any type of skiing, and trying to learn more about bikes.
